  • Always register for 2+ years so that you dont pay much for the first year as per the plans of most of the domain name sellers
  • Always try to pick the short and catchy name for your business, try to make it pronounce easy
  • Domain can go away quickly, hence if you have finalized on the name donot wait for it. Go ahead and reserve your domain name immediately
  • Prefer to have .com, the most common and popular domain extension. But if .com is not available you can go with the respective country extension such as .in (india), .us (USA), .sg ( singapore) etc.
  • You can also pick the domain which represents about your business goals or the purpose of it, such as .app, .shop, .online etc


  1. A hosting/Server- 192.161.72.3- IP Address- There are “N” number of hosting service providers, you can buy it from any of them based on the configuration and the pricing that works for you and your businesses. 

Tips:

  • Avoid windows server and always for linux server considering the ease to use and the features or options
  • Buy the hosting with the C-panel access
  • Buy multiple website hosting plans, so that you can host subdomains or many more domains in the same hosting environment
  • Go with at least 4Gb ram, this decides the quickness/speed/load times of your website and your overall web application performance
  • High level plans offer you free SSL and domain names and hence you can always compare and decide the plans


  1. The communication or the information that you want to display for your prospects or traffic coming to the website.- Example -

  • This communication eliminates the interference of the sales person and takes care of selling of your product and hence it has to be an highly effective language and information on the webpage (content planned)
  • Seek expert advice/digital marketers help in planning the webpages content
  • The content planned in this stage decides how your webpage UI/UX is going to be and the Ui/UX developers cna come up with the best always on basis of the right information
  • The content you plan in this stage decides the conversion rates/ROI/outcome of the website traffic, hence plan it to the best and wisely

A Content Management system ( CMS): Is used to publish the conent to the website and hosting servers, CMS are usually developed in one of the programming languages such as Java, Dotnet, PHP, Python, Etc. Alternatively you can use a readymade CMS Such as WordPress, Magento, Drupal, Shopify, etc- if you cant afford building a own CMS or doesnt know coding a readymade CMS is the solution. (we are going to download from the internet)

Database- The information pertaining to your websites will stored in a structured manner in the forms of rows and columns ( Tables) and can be queried, and presented on the webpages as per the need. Databases are used mostly for the dynamic websites and content or information automated websites. E.G: Excel, Google spreadsheets, MYSQL, Oracle DB and many more.
    1. Database is used to built the dynamic websites, where the information to the website will be pulled from database
    2. The static websites will have the information mostly on the HTML webpages or part of HTML static pages and doesn’t really come from or pulled from Database.

If you are planning to build a website on your own you may have to also understand how to get all of these, from where and how to use them.

Some amount of basic technical expetise is needed to get all these and set up in order to get started with the basic website.

If you want to build the website you have to learn the front end and back end programming languages or understand usage of the readily available content management systems and themes which are available for free as well as the paid version and with it, its all easy to set up a website quickly with no technical knowledge.
